Matthew Bates discusses his new book, Gospel Allegiance: What Faith in Jesus Misses for Salvation in Christ with Kurt. They talk about what the word “gospel” would have meant for the earliest Christians and the many problems we have in explaining this word in the church today. Gospel is, in short, a royal announcement that Jesus is Lord.
